Jocelyn Herbert and Tony Harrison: From the Jocelyn Herbert Archive at the National Theatre, London 2016

jh-and-th

An exhibition in collaboration with the National Theatre Archive to highlight the seminal work of costume and set designer Jocelyn Herbert and her partnership with theatre director and poet Tony Harrison. Covering her whole life’s work (1917- 2003) and spanning six different plays and a film, the exhibition was divided into the rooms ‘Masks’, ‘Context’, ‘Location’, and ‘Process.’ With archival material including photographs, masks, posters, correspondence, press cuttings, sketches and costumes, the detailed and personal relationship between Jocelyn and Tony was revealed.
